The Chief Minister made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation from HPCL, which called on him in Chandigarh, according to an official statement.
Highlighting the significance of the company's investment plans, Mann said it was encouraging that HPCL had shown strong interest in investing in key sectors such as refinery operations and biogas production in Punjab. He noted that these investments would provide substantial benefits to the state by accelerating economic activity and creating new employment opportunities for the youth.
Mann informed the delegation that HPCL is currently in the process of establishing ten biogas plants across Punjab. Of these, five plants have already become operational, marking significant progress in the company's expansion plans within the state.
Emphasising the environmental and agricultural benefits of the initiative, the Chief Minister said the biogas projects would contribute significantly to the scientific management of agricultural waste. He added that the projects would help address environmental concerns while providing considerable advantages to farmers.
Assuring the HPCL delegation of complete support and cooperation, Mann reiterated that the Punjab government remains firmly committed to attracting investment and facilitating industrial growth across the state. He said the administration would continue to extend all necessary assistance to ensure the successful implementation of such projects.
The development underscores Punjab's focus on promoting sustainable industrial investment, strengthening waste management practices, generating employment, and creating long-term benefits for both the state's economy and its agricultural sector.
